A Who’s who of Social Media [Infographic]

In order to help small businesses determine where their efforts would be best spent in the social media world. We’ve gathered statistics about some of the largest social networks and a few important mid-sized ones. It breaks down the networks by what their unique point of difference is, who is using it (Including demographics and the common interests of users of the social networks) and how you should be using the network. We hope this is useful in marketing your small business.

Update: Due to the popularity of this infographic we’ve created a slide presentation of this as well.

A Who's Who of Social Media [Infographic]

Keep in mind that just because a network has a lot of users doesn’t mean it is the most effective one for you to be focusing your efforts on. More targeted networks can often bring you far higher quality customers than huge networks.

  1. Imho I would say that this infograpic just lost its value, due to the absence of Google+!

I believe that Google+ is an excellent environment for small businesses! Not only because of the targeted marketing possibilities but also because of its collaboration possibilities!
Too bad, you left Google+ out of your overview!

    • I appreciate the feedback! We have plans to include G+ in our next version of this infographic. We believe it’s a valuable social network as well, it simply didn’t make it into this collection of networks.

    • Eisema,

We just updated the infographic with Google+. Hope you can get a little more value out of it now.

  2. Thanks for the update! I think its more valuable now!

    • Yeah, it’s getting a lot of attention. Our web traffic has increased nearly 400% in a large part due to this infographic. We will probably be producing a lot more infographics in the future.

  4. I have been impressed with your infographic! Is there any way we can repost it on our website for sales professionals and small business owners, http://www.soldlab.com? With proper attribution and link back to your website?

    Thank you!
